Couture Week may be over for the season (sigh), but we’re still gushing over the gorgeous gowns and spectacular hair looks. Check out our top hair picks for AW18, Part Two.
JEAN PAUL GAULTIER X ODILE GILBERT
When Gaultier meets Gilbert; magic indubitably ensues. One need only peruse through the pair’s countless collaborations to observe the beautiful evidence. This season’s statement? Wefts of hair affixed to earrings. Because who said your chopped locks can’t serve as jewellery?

DOLCE & GABBANA X GUIDO PALAU
As if Guido’s duchess do’s weren’t dazzling enough.
In keeping with Alta Moda’s air of Italian romance, Hair Director for Dolce and Gabbana Guido Palau styled a string of models with whimsical, mermaid-esque waves in a spectrum of pastel hues; “For this look, Josh did an amazing cobalt blue that fades in a beautiful way. I took a large curling iron and created waves – like a rich hippie.” We’re all for it.

RALPH & RUSSO X ODILE GILBERT
Ahh le pompadour; chic, shapely and oh so French. For Ralph and Russo’s AW 18/19 couture jaunt, hair was cleanly swept off models’ faces into low chignons, with front sections tszujed into modern, voluminous quiffs for extra drama. Gilbert gets it again.

VALENTINO X GUIDO PALAU
Whilst not strictly a hair look.. Guido supplements his famed Valentino volume with a series of floral ornamented head pieces in a rainbow of textures and colours. Like a brilliant birthday bouquet – minus the maintenance.

ANTONIO GRIMALDI X NEVILLE SALON
Sleek, clean and respectfully understated.. and that’s just the chignon. Hair for Antonio Grimaldi was pretty and polished, with an elegant chignon giving way to this regal, deco headpiece. There’s our next race look sorted.

VIKTOR & ROLF X DAMIEN BOISSINOT
We suspect Victor & Rolf’s AW 18/19 muse did not wake up like this. Hair Director Damien Boissinot styled an array of complementary hair looks for this season’s high octane couture show; one such look included this highly crimped, bed-hair-chic down ‘do accessorised with an uber plush cushion and quilt ensemble. Peter Alexander eat your heart out.

GUO PEI X NEVILLE SALON
This. Is. Everything. Braids are most definitely back, as demonstrated by the team at Neville Salon for this season’s Guo Pei show. We love the intricate detail work and simple up-twist. Bonus points for successful application of graphic liner.
