Bazaar in Bloom celebrates spring, fertility and femininity in all of its forms. This year the gowns and hair are inspired by art [and] we are thrilled to partner with Goldwell for the 4th year running.

One of the most lavish events on the Sydney social calendar, Bazaar in Bloom returned for another round of fundraising and festivities.

Back for another consecutive year, the annual black tie fundraiser welcomed an exclusive bill of guests to the Art Gallery of NSW, for an evening of fashion, entertainment and communal contribution.

Tapping some of the biggest names in Australian fashion, this year’s runway featured a 35-look line-up of one-off couture pieces from names such as Camilla, Ginger and Smart, Dion Lee, Romance was Born, Carla Zampatti and Pallas Couture.

In keeping with event’s grandiose premise and location, this year’s backdrop comprised a large scale painting by Sydney based artist Vicki Lee, who was commissioned specifically for the occasion.

A celebration of fashion, femininity and courage through adversity, the event gathered proceeds for the Royal Hospital for Women’s Foundation, with funds assisting efforts to acquire an on-site mammogram machine.

Returning as the official hair sponsors in 2019, Goldwell were on hand to supply the evening’s hair looks, with Hair Director Daren Borthwick and Lead Goldwell Stylists Ida Tirimacco and Joe Cimminio curating two bespoke styles for the show’s cast of models.

“This year’s gowns are feminine with a statement edge, [featuring] ruffles, beading and feathers,” shared Daren. “We created two looks: a soft feminine hair-out look and an art-inspired tucked pony – finished with freehand painting around the hairline.”

To create the hero looks, hair was styled using Goldwell Style Sign Surf Oil Salty Oil Spray, which was layered through to create a wet texture whilst retaining femininity.

This was layered through with Goldwell’s Creative Texture Dry Boost Dry Texture Spray, which was used a across both styles to add texture and bulk to the Painted Pony Tuck.

“I love working with Goldwell products backstage especially this year’s new innovations SURF OIL Salty Oil Spray and DRY BOOST Dry Texture

“I love working with Goldwell products backstage especially this year’s new innovations SURF OIL Salty Oil Spray and DRY BOOST Dry Texture Spray,” commented Ida Trimacco.

“Both are buildable and we’ve layered them together without leaving the hair hard or crunchy. DRY BOOST is my new go-to for instant texture plus grip so styles last.”
