THE JOICO ANZ FAME TEAM MENTOR DAY

The JOICO ANZ FAME Team Mentor Day:Exposing award winning colour techniques and expertise.

While this year’s FAME Team Mentor Week kept its excitement local, the creativity was at an all-time high courtesy of loyal partners including JOICO Australia/New Zealand (and a super inspired FAME Team!)

Recognised as one of the world’s best in reds, blondes, vibrants and pastels, the JOICO colour portfolio is supercharged with possibility and importantly, the technology to ensure a canvas that is cared for and backed by longevity, every time.

JOICO ANZ’s second year in partnership with FAME, this year harnessed local talent, JOICO Ambassador and AHFA award winner, Carolyn Gahan and JOICO ANZ Education Manager Duncan Richards to nurture and evolve the creative expression of 2021’s FAME members, Josh Congreve, Elyse Louise, Bec Snow and Eunji Kim.

“At Sabre, we are super proud to be the Colour Partner for the 2021 FAME TEAM with our JOICO brand. We adore sharing our JOICO insider knowledge with Australia’s finest young hairdressers; watching them create fearlessly and with confidence as supported by our brands Lumishine, Vero KPAK, Blonde Life Lightener and the award-winning Color Intensity (brights and pastels),” says JOICO ANZ Marketing Director, Kylie McLeod.

The morning started with a working breakfast as led by Duncan – travelling the team through the history and technical capacity of the brand (ultimately setting each member up for a successful jam session to follow). The afternoon saw Carolyn let the team into her award-winning colour (melting) techniques, journeying through the tricks and techniques defining previous collections and really delving into the balance of colour in an editorial setting. Each FAME member walked away with a sound knowledge on how to build a successful awards’ entry – an invaluable insight for any hairdresser.

Next, the creative colour challenge where the team were split into two teams and asked to work with JOICO Intensity across pre-lightened models. The winning creation came from Josh and Elise with models captured by industry photographer David Mannah.

Lastly, a one-on-one with Sydney artist, Sid Tapia on how to mix, collaborate and apply colour on a different medium: canvas. A fascinating exploration through the principle of colour and its endless forms of expression.

A successful FAME instalment indeed.
