EVENTS: REDKEN CELEBRATES 30 YEARS OF SHADES EQ

Do you shades EQ?

To celebrate 30 years of Shades EQ, Redken’s most iconic colour offering to date, the brand hosted members of its local tribe for an exclusive day of content creation.

Held inside Redken’s Melbourne Academy, the event saw hairdressers from across 15 salons (including Oscar Oscar, TKay Studio, Telleish Hair Studio, Hair by Maxi and Pearl Blonde) gather for a day of creativity under the tutelage of colour queen Sheree Knobel (Bixie Colour).

Armed with Shades EQ, Colour Gels and a range of Redken’s most coveted haircare and styling products, hairdressers created bespoke hair transformations for their respective models, demonstrating a successful (and gram-worthy) synergy between cut, colour and style.

Following a dynamic day of styling, networking and trademark Redken revelry (but of course), stylists ushered their freshly glammed models through to a custom content station, complete with Redken media wall, photographers and beauty lighting. The goal? To capture the perfect insta-snap.

Fondly referred to as ‘the hair colour that thinks its a conditioner’, Redken Shades EQ comprises an acidic, demi-permanent formula and boasts a spectrum of shade options. With a gentle constitution, glosses are perfect for shine-enhancing, ensuring healthy, beautiful hair.

“There’s nothing else like Shades EQ on the market; it’s forever copied, never mastered!” shared Redken Product Manager Michael Doherty. “With Shades EQ, colourists have versatility. It can be used for toning, colour correction or to add shine and gloss to the hair. And, it look damn good on instagram!”

“We’ve always fostered a Redken tribe, and events such as today’s collab are a true evolution of the Redken brand,” he continued. “It’s not only a chance to celebrate Shades EQ, but also an opportunity for our stylists to create content and push these across their channels – something salons are screaming for.”

Besides celebrating an iconic legacy, the day was also a chance for stylists to road test Redken’s new Shades EQ Gloss Toners in Level 10; the perfect formulations for lighter and brighter blonde hair. With calibrated deposits, the new instalments give stylists on-level, true-to-tone results at Level 10.

Does it get much better?
