EVENTS: 2019 FAME TEAM SOIRÉE

Head inside the 2019 FAME Team soirée with the new Fab Four.

It’s the industry’s premier discovery program. An invaluable platform for the cultivation of new and emerging hair talent, FAME Team celebrates the next generation of hairdressers – on both a local and global scale.

This year the program welcomes four incredible new delegates, namely Christopher Byrne (Sloans of Lane Cove), Laura Spinney (Academie Salon), Charlene Fernandez (Rokk Ebony) and William Webb (Ella & Jade); all of whom will embark on the creative and educational journey of a lifetime, alongside FAME Team Creative Director Jack Morton and a host of revered mentors.

“The team have genuinely bonded, and very quickly at that,” said Jack. “We have a great group of creatively charged individuals. Each has their own individual aesthetic, but they are very much on the same page direction wise.”

To kick off FAME Team Mentor Week, M Division hosted each of this year’s delegates alongside brand partners and a selection of past members for the annual FAME Team soiree; an opportunity for all to rub shoulders ahead of the week to follow.

“We’re super excited to have new sponsors Kela on board; it’s a brand that’s really relevant in our climate and we can’t wait to see what the team creates with their merchandise,” continued Jack. “Accessories are definitely trending, and you’ll be seeing a lot of ‘overly accessorised hair’ coming from the FAME team this year!”

“Likewise, our second new sponsors Joico have been incredibly generous and warm. They have a fantastic array of products and a broad spectrum of colours. We’re looking forward to watching the team showcase these in their own unique ways.”

“We’re so excited to be working once again with Cloud Nine and evo, who are returning for their fifth year running,” shared Jack. “Quality styling products and premium hot tools are the backbone of our work, and these tools and products will allow the FAME Team to really explore their creative potential.”

Relaunched to Australia in 2014, the FAME Team perseveres as an invaluable hairdressing discovery program and talent platform, offering life changing opportunities, mentorship and exposure to next generation hairdressers from across the nation.

The year spanning program boasts a rich roster of mentors, stage opportunities and photographic shoots, with this year’s troupe travelling to London for Salon International, and – for the first time in FAME history! – New York and Los Angeles.
