With a firm focus on continuously nurturing their creative crew, the team at Redken were back at it again for the second year running – hosting their larger than life Advocates in Melbourne for the ’24 Summit.
With an overview of what’s to come in the year ahead kickstarting things on Sunday afternoon, the team then went on to soak up a little culture at the NGV’s Triennial exhibition before indulging in a team-bonding meal at Melbourne hotspot Yakimono.
The next day saw a full program of presentation skills with fearless leader (and Redken National Education Manager Mark Thompson), without night of socializing rounding out Day 2.
Finally, to finish things off in fitting style for this group of taste-makers, Redken connected them with a TikTok influencer and Content Expert live from New York for a practical look at growing their social channels.
Who better to give us a wrap than the Advocates themselves? From creative inspiration through to team bonding and presentation elevation, here the Redken Advocates take us through their top takeaways and fave moments from the incredible weekend that was.
“I loved my experience at the Redken Advocate Summit especially because I know that going in I’m always going to leave with my cup full. For me it’s a great opportunity to sharpen up on my facilitation skills while I get to immerse myself in the full vibrancy of the Redken energy. I particularly loved the segment with a guest speaker who is a TikTok expert. I love my Redken family and can’t wait to be back in the room for the next Advocate Summit.”

“The Advocate Summit was a 10 out of 10! I learned so much about presenting education. I can’t wait to try it all in classes. And TikTok Tuesday was a mind explosion. My favorite part was the Redken community. Spending quality time with my fellow hair fiends was the absolute highlight. Being with everyone that weekend seriously felt like a big warm hug.”

“Incredible three days at our advocate summit in Melbourne. The biggest standout of the weekend was building that community bond with our Redken family and spending time with some of the new advocates that I had not had not had the opportunity to spend time with before. During the 3 days, we learnt the Redken mantra, leaner focused facilitation skills & TikTok. As an OG Redken artist, it was so exciting to watch our new Advocates soak it all up, it really reinforces how dedicated we are to be the best educators we can be and represent Redken as an aligned team.”

“The supportive community of hairdressers that Redken houses is one of the best parts of being an advocate. The biggest highlight from the summit by far was being surrounded by industry leaders while being given the opportunity to evolve and grow as educators, leaders and human beings.

Learning everything from presentation skills to Tiktok.
Walked away with a belly ache from all the laughs and my heart overflowing.
Very grateful.”

“I loved the Summit – found it to be super informative and got so many key takeaways such as learning how to present better to my team and students. Having the opportunity to connect with like-minded salon owners is so important and knowing that I have a support network of amazing educators, artists and business minds really is such a gift – I feel honoured to be a part of the Redken family and cannot wait to see what’s on the horizon. The summit really was a reminder to put myself out there, level up my skills, invest in myself and get out of my comfort zone and network – especially with those who I’m so inspired by!”

“The Redken community is one to be apart of. Once you’re in a room full of like minded people it really pushes you to succeed. Our advocate submit weekend was jammed packed full of knowledge, education, connection, laughter and love. I walked away feeling inspired in so many ways not only to further my educational skills but my business also. I don’t know why anyone would ever not be part of this community.”

“The main thing for me and to better myself I’m not just being an educator but in my personal life. I learn how to approach, better understand and also grow in so many areas. We connect, we chat about our journeys and our business and lean on each other.”
