EVENT: A Brush With Climate

Paloma Rose Garcia launches ‘A Brush with Climate,’ a climate education session designed specifically for hairdressers.

She’s Australian hairdressing’s climate influencer, protecting and protesting for a better life here on planet earth. Paloma Rose Garcia of PALOMA salon is not afraid to use her voice and connection as a hairdresser to educate for change and is inviting fellow stylists to arm themselves with the knowledge to do the same.

“A Brush with Climate is a concept I’ve been working on for a long time and in collaboration with friend and environmentalist, Anna Rose. My climate journey started a few years ago, and part of this was coming to the realisation that we as hairdressers have an amazing opportunity to hold conversation with our guests; gently sharing information to make a change,” says Paloma.

“You have this individual in your hands for a minimum of 45-minutes, why not use the time to make a difference in the world? There are not many industries that can do that.”

The event is suitable to all industry heads, from the apprentice to the salon owner, brand, and marketing manager, and will really focus on how to communicate on key climate issues with the objective to build awareness.

“Guests will learn from two wonderful women, Professor Lesley Hughes (Ecologist, former Federal Climate Commissioner and Pro Vice-Chancellor at Macquarie University), and Dr. Rebecca Huntley (Author, Researcher and Communications Specialist) who are thrilled to share their knowledge with such an influential group of individuals.”

With flood and bushfire devastation still fresh in our minds, the time is truly now to step up and invest the time to help change our future. Mother Nature cares for us, and it’s time we did the same.
