Are you a recently qualified hairdresser or apprentice looking to make waves in the editorial world?
If the answer is yes… then we have a little something to help you get things started.
Hair Shots 2 The World are collaborating with the AHC’s Youthworx platform to curate two global PR releases for apprentices (valued at $330 a piece) and another for one qualified Youthworx member (valued at a staggering $650) as part of this year’s STAR Competition.
Returning for it’s fourth consecutive year, the competition offers up-and-coming hairdressers a rare chance to showcase their editorial vision to the industry. Winners (including last year’s delegates Hermiz Daniel, Elle Schoemaker and Nikki Porter) have since seen their work published on an international scale.
“International publication is a great way to gain recognition, get noticed and build your brand, especially if the results are used in marketing to clients and on social media,” shared Hair Shots 2 The World’s Leanne Cutler. “We can’t wait to see where the new winners will go.”
Echoing Leanne’s sentiments, CEO of the Australian Hairdressing Council Sandy Chong said; “This is a fantastic opportunity for all our Youthworx members to gain great exposure on an international level; and showcase their creative talents to the world.”
To qualify, entrants are required to submit a collection of 4-6 low res images, shot credits and inspiration to leanne@hairshots2theworld.com with the applicable subject line: Youthworx entry, Qualified/Apprentice. Competition closes midnight, Monday 1st July with winners to be announced on July 8th via social media.*
This year’s judging panel features a line up of industry heavyweights including Caterina Di Biase, Benni Tognini, Jayne Wilde and former HJI Editor Ruth Hunsley.
*Only AHC Youthworx members are permitted to enter. To sign up (for free!) visit: theahc.org.au/membership/youthworx-membership
