CAMPAIGN: 2021 WELLA WOMAN, VERA BLUE

Lighting up digital cover 04/21 is none other than heart of gold and Australian music success, Vera Blue. To celebrate their launch as an independent company, Wella has selected Blue as their 2021 Wella Woman: Not only the physical embodiment of the brand’s iconic logo, the copper creative is a genuine Wella enthusiast and long-time customer of Wella Ambassador, Richi Grisillo. The definition of chameleon, Vera’s hair is a standout characteristic of her image as an artist, Using it almost “as another limb” when performing – it’s shape-shifting nature, colour and shine are at the heart of the notorious transformation from Celia to Vera Blue.   

We were recently invited to journey through the metamorphosis from Celia to Vera, exploring the unique and emotional connection a woman shares with her hair colour and its conductor, the hairdresser (Wella Professionals ANZ Creative Director, Richi Grisillo). The inside story travels from salon to Vera’s apartment and finally backstage in the very moments before walking on stage. An insightful look into the performer psyche and role of authentic beauty on stage. Launching May 10/21 on YouTube.
