Presented by HJI and Schwarzkopf Professional, the 2017 British Hairdressing Awards honoured the very best in British hairdressing talent.
Inside London’s luxurious Grosvenor House, 1,500 of the UK’s top hairdressing talent gathered for the 2017 British Hairdressing Awards. Hosted by Hairdresser’s Journal International, the annual event celebrates the most creative and technically-gifted hairstylists in Britain.
The evening was MC’d by TV Presenter Cat Deeley alongside Executive Director for HJ, Jayne Lewis-Orr. “Each year, British hairdressing goes from strength to strength.” said Lewis-Orr; “These awards serve to celebrate not just the sheer technical skill involved in making the images, but also the creativity and vision behind them.”
“Each winner has demonstrated an ability to dream big, then bring that concept to life in imagery that’s beautiful, inspiring and directional. We’re very proud of all the winners and would like to extend our congratulations on behalf of Hairdressers Journal International.”
Taking out the evening’s highest honour – 2017 British Hairdresser of the Year – was Sally Brooks, who was lauded for both her inspired collection, and continuous contribution to the hairdressing industry. Sally represents the first female winner of the accolade since 2005.
“I never thought I’d be standing on stage accepting this award, especially as I was up against such amazing hairdressers that I respect so much.” beamed Sally; “Thank you to my amazing team and the support they give to me and each other, and thank you to my photographer, Jenny Hands; I couldn’t have done this without her!”
