AHFA: EXTENDED DEADLINE AND NEW GALA DATE ANNOUNCED

The AHFA today announces an extended deadline and December gala date in response to current lockdown restrictions.

In its 29th year the Australian Hair Fashion Awards finds itself once again navigating the unknown with evolving lockdown restrictions impacting industry on all levels.

As always, the AHFA team is determined to celebrate while recognising new and legendary industry talent – the creatives, educators, marketers and all-round leaders that make Australian (and New Zealand!) hairdressing the global sources of inspiration they are today.

“The AHFA represents so much more than a trophy. It represents a craft that is limitless in creativity, innovation, community and most of all resilience,” starts M DIVISION, CEO and AHFA Creative Director, David Mannah.

“We delivered last year, and we’ll do it again. So, M DIVISION has now activated its Phase 3 plan pushing the event to Monday December 13th.”

The M DIVISION team is working towards the new date in hope of a normalised climate by December. Should a level of restrictions remain, the AHFA will go ahead either partially or completely in a virtual format.

“We are driven to provide alternative solutions and remain fluid to change in line with the current climate. M DIVISION has implemented this approach across every aspect of business, and although we’ve seen immense challenges, strive to evolve and deliver solutions for hairdressing Australia.”

The new date leads a complete timeline shift, with amended dates as follows:

Extended Deadline | 5pm Fri 8th Oct

Judging: Mon 18th | Fri 29th Oct 2021

Finalists Announced | Mon 15th Nov 2021

AHFA Gala Night | Mon 13th Dec 2021

“We understand restrictions have proven limiting to individual artists and teams looking to shoot and enter in 2021, and anticipate the deadline extension will help make this year’s competition a reality to more hairdressers across all categories.”

Onboard for the third consecutive year, the AHFA would like to thank Major Partner DYSON for the continued support – true backers of the hairdressing industry in one of its most challenging times.

“This truly outlines the heart behind this incredible brand and its love for professional hairdressers. I am so thrilled to continue the partnership with DYSON in 2021,” says David.

The AHFA encourages all potential participants to plan on how they can be part of this incredible night, click here to see your lockdown options.
