AFW 26: DAY 3 HIGHLIGHTS

Day three of Australian Fashion Week saw hair direction take a more refined turn, balancing sleek minimalism with soft, lived-in texture.

At Mariam Seddiq, Shark Beauty’s Madison Voloshin channelled a polished kind of noughties glamour through glass-like shine and sharp, jaw-grazing shapes, while NAGNATA’s Paloma Rose Garcia for KEVIN.MURPHY embraced clean movement and healthy, intentionally undone texture. Ben Martin’s work for Karla Špetić leaned airy and effortless, trading overworked polish for a softer “cool girl” ease, while at ESSE Studios, Gina Yates balanced structure and softness through loose texture and elevated pulled-back detailing that felt quietly refined.

Our favourite looks from Day 3, below!

MARIAM SEDDIQ X SHARK BEAUTY

Madison Voloshin’s hair direction for Shark Beauty channelled a refined kind of noughties glamour – sleek, polished and rebellious. The look paired glass-like shine with sharp, jawline-grazing silhouettes.

“For Mariam’s runway, we leaned into noughties nostalgia, drawing inspiration from the polished glamour and sharp silhouettes that defined the era,” explains Shark Beauty Hair Director Madison Voloshin. “We wanted the hair to feel powerful yet effortless – sleek, expensive-looking, and slightly rebellious.”

NAGNATA X KEVIN.MURPHY

For NAGNATA, the hair direction by Paloma Rose Garcia for             KEVIN.MURPHY embraced an elevated minimalism – soft, sleek and intentionally undone, healthy texture and clean movement.

“The hair look is sleek, simple, and beautifully understated,” says Hair Director Paloma Rose Garcia. “We wanted the hair to feel natural with a soft finish – not overly polished or high shine. It’s about healthy-looking hair with subtle texture and clean direction that complements the minimal aesthetic of the collection.”

ESSE STUDIOS X GOLDWELL X ORIBE X ROGUE BEAUTY

Gina Yates’ hair direction felt effortlessly refined. Softly pulled back with loose texture through the front and an elevated bun detail, the look balanced polished structure with an undone softness.

“She’s gone out after work, she’s pulled her hair back,” says Hair Director Gina Yates. “There’s a few looser pieces around the front, but she’s done a little something special in the back.

“We created this elevated bun, whilst still keeping the edges nice and soft.”
