AFW 25: DAY 3 HIGHLIGHTS

A massive day of undone luxury, natural textures and effortless glamour, AFW25’s runways were a masterclass in chic looks and muted elegance, proving that the ultimate cool girl never tries too hard.

Kickstarting with a bang at Aje in Barangaroo with Shark Beauty’s Madison Voloshin crafting a luxe but cool aesthetic and finishing off with the exclusive Ebay x Vogue dinner, here we’ve gathered our top runway moments from every show you missed from AFW Day 3.

SHARK BEAUTY X AJE

For Aje, Shark Beauty Hair Director Madison Voloshin set about creating the ultimate Aje girl.

“The energy of the hair looks we created is all about being effortlessly done and lived-in, yet still polished. It’s luxurious but cool — nothing too overworked. The Shark FlexStyle auto wrap attachment and diffuser really help enhance natural texture. They give just the right amount of volume and control, letting the hair feel styled without looking overly done — perfect hair, with character.”

ELEVEN AUSTRALIA X EBAY VOGUE DINNER

A celebration of the future of fashion and prevalence of upcycling, the intimate Ebay x Vogue Dinner was an event like no other – featuring hair direction and five distinct looks – one per brand – from ELEVEN Australia’s Joey Scandizzo.

SHARK BEAUTY & O&M X BIANCA SPENDER

It was all about effortlessly natural, lived-in texture for Shark Beauty Co Hair Director Chris Hunter and O&M’s Co Hair Director John Pulitano’s  vision for Bianca Spender.

“For the hair looks for Bianca Spender’s show, we wanted to capture the moment someone steps out of the water – but steer away from the typical high-shine wet look. It’s more about a lived-in, undone texture that feels natural and effortless. It’s wet, but not slick – there’s separation, softness, and a sense of calm that feels beautifully real, achieved using the Shark Beauty SpeedStyle with diffuser attachment.”

“When I first saw the collection, I knew I wanted the hair direction to reflect it. The shapes in the fabrics, the beautiful movement, and the way everything was so organically draped — it was exactly what I wanted to bring to life through the hair.”

“The first thing that came to mind when I saw the collection was fluidity and freedom. I noticed how everything flowed so effortlessly, structured, yet unstructured.”

“Hair can be very meticulous. Something that looks effortless actually takes a great deal of work and preparation. We used plenty of the O&M Frizzy Logic Shine Serum to achieve that wet-hair look, sealing it with the O&M W-Spray, which still allowed for movement and texture.”

“We wanted to achieve that wet plunge look without it appearing slick or oily, creating beautiful, architectural waves through the hair,” says O&M Hair Director, John Pulitano.

Sleek but not wet, it was the final word in soft sophistication.

O&M X NGALI

O&M Hair Director Sheridan Rose Shaw infused her ultra-low ponytails with interesting crimps that added a twist.

“My brief for the show was that the girl about to Walk to Country,” explains O&M Hair Director Sheridan Rose Shaw. “We are, of course walking the runway today, so these looks had to be polished – but I have infused a little MAMAWEST twist through super detailed crimping that provided a real point of difference to the looks.”
