It’s been an exciting few weeks for the Australian College of Makeup and Special Effects (ACMUSE), a leading Training Organisation within makeup-up and special effects for over 35 years, which has just announced that it will be opening a new campus in Melbourne this June.
Multi-award winning hair and make-up artist Lesley Vanderwalt (who just won an Oscar for Best Make-up & Hairstyling on feature film Mad Max : Fury Road!) comments on the opening;
’During the Make-up Artist and Hair Stylist Guild Awards ceremony in LA, I personally thanked ACMUSE and their students for their help on Mad Max : Fury Road.
I always come to ACMUSE when I have work experience; some students have gone on to become my assistants. I believe the standard and training at ACMUSE to be the best in Australia.
I wish ACMUSE all the best in Melbourne and look forward to working with their Melbourne students when I am next in Victoria.’
ACMUSE provides amazing opportunities for trainees to take a hands-on approach to the industry – below are images of the students work during the filming of Mad Max in Australia, as well as the layout of the new Melbourne academy.
