AAFW23: YOUR BACKSTAGE PASS TO MARIAM SEDDIQ WITH DAVROE’S MADISON VOLOSHIN

“For Mariam’s show, we’ve created a high pony that’s quite aerodynamic. The clothes are beautiful and have been tailor-made for each girl, as has the hairstyle.”

No stranger to the craziness of a Fashion Week back of house, our homegrown hero Davroe once again reunited with Aussie label Mariam Seddiq last Wednesday night for the label’s eagerly anticipated AAFW23 showing.

Mariam’s latest collection was, true to form, a visual feast of bold colour and design with a strong architectural element running through the entirety of the looks presented, which Davroe Hair Director Madison Voloshin continued on in his gravity-defying looks crafted for the show.

“We’re here backstage at Marian Sadiq show for Australian Fashion Week where we are doing our styles as you can see – its very, very busy with 40 models to get ready for the runway,” said Madison backstage on show day. “We’ve chosen to slick all the girls hair back using Davroe’s Construct Gel which is our hero product and gave us a finished look that is quite sleek and customized for each girl,” he explains of his ultra-sleek vision for the hair direction.

He continues, “The look today that we chose to do for Mariam, it’s influenced by going out. It’s slicked up to work for all the ladies putting their hair up, and having this really sleek and pointy end gives our models a little bit of an edge.  We’ve also added in a little bit of wire on some of the girls, giving it even more of an aerodynamic look.”

“We’ve worked with Mariam Seddiq before, and I love her. She’s a legend. For this year’s show, we’ve created a high pony that’s quite aerodynamic. The clothes are beautiful and have been tailormade for each girl, as has the hairstyle.”

“We were so excited to be back here in Sydney working with Mariam Seddiq again, especially in the middle of Australian-Made Week (coincidently aligning with AAFW23). Just like Davroe, Mariam’s designs are made right here in Australia which provides such a great synergy between our brands.”
