EVENT: INSIDE O&M’S MADE FOR ORIGINALS 2024

Back for a second outing, O&M’s renowned education event, Made For Originals (MFO), made a massive comeback at Sydney’s White Bay Passenger Terminal. This year’s iteration was the largest to date, featuring a star-studded lineup of O&M COR.creators and attracting over 750 guests ready to learn from the larger-than-life O&M creative collective.

Host Kirsty Anne kept vibes high both on and off-stage and highlighted a global roster of talent including Jaye Edwards, Amelia Jane, Sheridan Shaw, Kim Haberley, Lucas Di Oslo, Kindale Godbee, Pauline McCabe, Karl Dawson, and Grace Kelly, alongside O&M Founder Jose Bryce Smith. Attendees had the chance to dive into advanced techniques ranging from lived-in blondes and colour correction to striking brunettes and dimensional blondes.

In addition to the hands-on workshops and educational sessions, the event featured engaging activations and styling demonstrations straight from the runway. The generous support of sponsors like Dyson, Molly Vie, Hello Bleach, Jaye Haircare, Jadore, and Atache was evident, with over $10,000 in prizes up for grabs via the hugely popular claw machine tasked with ensuring that everyone left with a gift.

In true O&M style the event wasn’t just about hair; it also included breathwork and manifestation sessions led by Jake Putin, culminating in the vibrant MFO After Dark party, where guests could relax and connect.

Jose Bryce Smith shared, “Seeing almost double the hairdressers from last year’s event shows how far our clean colour movement has come. Watching our COR.creators inspire artists to dream and discover their true selves embodies the core O&M message.”

Host Kirsty Anne remarked, “Made For Originals was truly a highlight of my career. I hope everyone left feeling inspired.”

Other highlights included Lucas Di Oslo’s enthusiasm for learning and sharing new techniques, and Pauline McCabe’s reminder of the importance of continuous education. Kindale Godbee emphasized the importance of hair health, especially for curly textures, while Sheridan Shaw enjoyed showcasing O&M pigments. Kim Haberley and Jaye Edwards both expressed their gratitude and passion for the craft, and Grace Kelly and Karl Dawson shared their excitement about the event and its impact.
