Following a global round of digital judging, this year’s national leg commenced with a statewide tour of Australia, as semi-finalists from across VIC, SA & TAS, WA & NT, QLD and NSW & ACT revealed their looks to an esteemed panel of local judges – including L’Oréal Professionnel International Ambassador and AHFA 2017 Hairdresser of the Year, Damien Rinaldo.
Before a crowd of the brand’s finest envoys, each look would find multi-hued life atop a series of regional runways, following a thorough day of local judging. One by one, looks were scored for technical innovation, overall look, originality, wear-ability, and adherence to current trends – before judges would select each state’s Rising Star Award national finalist, and three respective Colour Trophy finalists for 2018.
February 2018 will see each finalist return to Melbourne for the competition’s prestigious Grand Finale. From there, each winner will be given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate in L’Oréal Professionnel’s International Colour Trophy.
