One of the industry’s longest running live hair competitions, L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy is back, following a triumphant national return in 2018.
A joint celebration of hair, colour and fashion, Colour Trophy platforms the best in hairdressing talent, honouring exceptional artistry, skill and creative vision Australia wide.
Held inside Melbourne’s Crown Casino, 2018’s finale hosted the industry’s elite for an evening of musical performances, live hair demonstrations and the revelation of this year’s talented winners. View the recap here.
Emceed by comedian Joel Creasey, special guests included 2018 L’Oréal Professionnel ambassador, Dannii Minogue and international artist Guylaine Martel who dazzled crowds with a high octane, avant-garde showcase.
Entry into the 2019 contingent kicked off this June, with participants invited to submit their interpretations of this season’s colour trends for the first round of digital judging.
Round one will be judged by seven of the industry’s most prominent international stylists (including Ken Picton, Paul Dennison, Jack Howard, Matthew Collins, Shelley Gregory, Jamie Brooks and British Hairdresser of the Year, Sally Brooks) before which twenty semi-finalists will be announced.
Semi-Finalists will be tasked with recreating their looks in front of a panel of esteemed local judges and subsequently showcasing their finished looks live at their respective state finals.
The live Semi-Finals will take place on 5 dates across 5 cities:

QLD 21st October 2018
NSW & ACT 23rd October 2018
VIC 29th October 2018
Finalists will next be invited to recreate their looks at the competition’s LIVE Grand Finale, scheduled for Monday February 25th 2019.
Winners will be announced across two esteemed categories, namely Colour Trophy (Major Winner, Runner up, Second Runner up) and Rising Star.
This year’s competition boasts an impressive prize pool including a trip to an International L’Oréal event, national exposure and recognition via Colour Trophy’s national media partners.
