GHD X NOCTURNE COLLECTION

GHD X NOCTURNE COLLECTION

ghd unveil new Nocturne collection and an international first for hair. 150 looks in 12 hours is no easy feat.

The first to revolutionise the humble heat styler, evolving the professionals go-to tool into a household name and a must have on every Millennials’ Christmas list, ghd continued to create history last night at Australia’s royal jewel, the Sydney Opera House.

Celebrating the always anticipated launch of ghd’s Christmas collection, plush surrounds and a setting sun laid the purple carpet for the grand unveiling of 2017s festive installment: Nocturne.

Blurring the boundaries between day and night, and delivering infinite styling opportunities without damage, the ghd limited edition Nocturne collection allows you to express yourself throughout those long, party season affairs evolving from day to night … and sometimes the morning after.

The event, welcoming the country’s key beauty media, leading bloggers, session stylists and the brand’s most valued salon community, travelled the theme so much further than matching (lavender) cocktails and the fusion of afternoon to evening, and into a global concept calling on 12 of the country’s leading session stylists, from 7am to 7pm. The line up: Jayne Wild, Uros Mikic, Brad Lepper, Lisa Vitale, Richi Grisillo, Mia Davries, Alana Dunphy, Liam Hubbard, Shaleena Winter, Travis Bandeira and Jayme Lee Franco.

Mentored by ghd Australia and New Zealand Creative Director Richard Kavanagh, the army of professionals and their respective models’ set about manifesting 7 looks each. The brief? ‘No Brief.’ Stylists were asked to create infinitely and that’s exactly what they did for 12 hours straight before guests were treated to a runway extravaganza. The best part? There was a fellow UK ghd team on the opposite side of the globe creating to the same concept, at the same time, among them our very Uros Mikic creating a beautiful 70s textured bob on behalf of his homeland. How many looks is that? 150 and surely some kind of record in hair.

The Nocturne theme travels through the brand’s full line up of tools and presents an assortment of ultimate gifts for every woman at Christmas. From the ghd air professional dryer to the ghd curve creative wand, soft curl tong and series of styler gift sets, ghd leaves no excuse for lack luster style this festive season and into the year ahead.
