COMPETITION ALERT: AVEDA OPEN DIGITAL FASHIONISTA 2018 COMPETITION!
Aveda have just unveiled their global search for the most engaging recreation of a social media trend.
The competition, which spans the all encompassing reach of Instagram, is a way for hairdressers to advance their craft and platform their talent to the world.
The competition is split into both regional and national levels, with each winner up for a number of fantastic prizes.
National winners are invited to progress into the regional finals, which will take place in Dubai in 2019. They will also partake in an exclusive shoot with The Journal’s David Mannah.
The Global search will climax at the Aveda Exclusive event from March 9th – 12th 2019.
Included in the festivities (aside from 5 star luxury and VIP dinners) is the opportunity to have a once in a lifetime experience at the award winning Aveda Salon in Dubai.
It’s as simple as finding a look that you believe is both beautiful and relevant in today’s globally converging hair fashion environment – with a specific emphasis on what would trend on any social platform.
Entrants are encouraged to upload their work between the 15th of July until the 1st of September using the hashtags #digitalfashionista2018, #avedafashionista and tagging @aveda.
Aveda encourages entrants to find the fun and lose the structure for this one, maintaining that a winning look doesn’t need to encompass a professional shot or model.
Entrants should focus on what inspires them most, rather than be confined by season, fashion or specific industry looks and create something that will make someone tap their screen twice.
What is the brief? Create a social media, trend-inspired editorial image encompassing cut colour and style. The style should embody your translation of what is beautiful and relevant in the hair and beauty industry, and what would make an impact on any social media feed.
Do I need a professional photographer? NO! The image should be taken by YOU on your trusty iPhone. All images must be in COLOUR.
